Where to stay in Dresden

1. Penck Hotel

It took me a while to realize why I felt as if we were staying at an art museum when being at Penck Hotel which is embellished with art and sculptures in a degree that I have never experienced in any other hotel before. A. R. Penck was one of Germany’s most outstanding painters of post-war art from the 1960s and his spirit lives on in this hotel, undoubtedly.

Located only a few minutes' walk from the historic Old Town of Dresden, within this hotel you will find spatial rooms, mysteriously hidden closets and bathrooms reviving the past. I like to stay at hotels I know have a certain standard and quality and therefore usually opt for a minimum of 4-stars with a budget that is neither low nor high but very middle range. Penck Hotel is an ideal combination of price and comfort with a great location and the bonus of an unusual design and immersion in art that will turn your stay into an experience worth telling.

The entire number of 174 rooms have been completely renovated in 2019 and contain comfortable double beds, retro vibes in the bathroom with yellow tiles and glass pedestal sinks and a hidden closet which is being revealed once you move the desk. I had such a great pleasure staying here where the concept of Penck Hotel turned it into an unforgettable experience.
