Where to stay in Paris

The numbers of hotels in Paris to choose between is vast, so I compiled a clear list of a couple of very affordable hotels with a high standard and the best locations in Paris for your where-to-stay-in-Paris-list.

On a discrete street in the heart of the 13th arrondissement lays this hidden 4-star hotel

1. Hôtel Rosalie

On a discrete street in the heart of the 13th arrondissement, in close proximity to the bustling Place d’Italie, lays this hidden 4-star hotel. With only a couple of kilometres away you will quickly reach some of Paris’ biggest attractions like the Notre Dame, the Catacombs or the Pantheon and should you not feel like walking, the metro station at Place d’Italie is right around the corner.

A hidden gem of a hotel stood splendidly in front of me

Upon approaching the hotel, I carefully walked through the tall iron gate, entering a secluded courtyard in which a hidden gem of a hotel stood splendidly in front of me. On the 3rd floor a secret garden unfolds exclusively for the guests of the hotel, offering a peaceful atmosphere amidst the bustling city of Paris. I feel bad for not having had more time to explore this property, but Paris was waiting for me, and this just makes for a great excuse to return one day.

Entering the Hôtel Orphée I would never have guessed that this was "only" categorized as a 3-star hotel

2. Hôtel Orphée

Entering Hôtel Orphée I would never have guessed that this was "only" categorized as a 3-star hotel; the good quality and high standard of the hotel reflect so much more than that. Sheltered by a number of lush, grand trees on the Boulevard Sain-Marcel lays this wonderful hotel in one of those classic, Parisian Haussmann buildings. Upon entering the hotel, I was welcomed into a charming and warm atmosphere; the lady at the desk being utterly attentive and friendly.

My room and the accompanying bathroom were rather small of size

My room and the accompanying bathroom were rather small of size, yet I was amazed by the thoughtful details in the room where everything seemed to be of one entity. With incorporated wooden elements throughout the room and a hint of Art Deco details, the room perfectly combined the buildings 19th century history with a touch of modernism.
